    Too many to list now.
You are correct sir. I want to be able to have the camera in the center console, pointed to the rear seats so I can make sure the little one is doing good. With the video displaying, can you still listen to music? Obviously not with a DVD, but with the back-up (or child view in my case) can you still have tunes going? Or is it a one function at a time type of unit. Cause that'd be lame. Thanks for answering questions, like I said, this is a new product so I'm hesitant to pull the trigger.

I'm sure you can listen to music cause i don't see how it would cut it out only thing is that you would have to turn it off to change music and turn it back on. mainly all you have to do is plan it out right and play with it to make sure it works the way you'd like it to!

Some flags and center console divider... lots of things on the wanted list.
It isn't one function at a time. I can listen to music while using GPS... so it has SOME multi-tasking. I haven't hooked up my backup cam yet since I haven't had time to tear apart the cab to run the wires yet.

Software updates are a CONSTANT thing these days... how many Windows updates has Microsoft sent out in the last year? Right now, if you do a fresh install of XP Service Pack 3, the computer will be updating and restarting from "critical" updates for 2 hours.

Apple makes a change to an iProduct and a change needs to be made to peripheral devices to remain compatible or to take advantage of the new feature.
For 90% of users, they aren't going to see any difference between G2 and G5.

Discount? These things are $799 on their web site and offered for $650 here.
Compare that to the $800-$1200+ for other aftermarket options (that don't have the Tacoma dash panel). $650 is a good deal.

Installation help? These guys are importers/brokers/resellers. They are not a full service AV shop like Al & Eds.. and they don't charge what Al & Eds charges. Yes, you can walk into their office to pick up an item, but they don't have a "storefront" and are not a traditional retail shop. They are an online vendor who happens to allow customers to will-call.

I do understand the frequent updates we are having may be driving customers weary....to clear up some of the confusion and my own confusion (I have to wait for the radio to come before I can say for sure, I don't happen to believe it till i see it)

G3 will be satellite radio ready...meaning you can buy an additional module that will allow satellite radio....

Different interface...hopefully faster mHz on the processor

compatible w/ JBL and non JBL (there will be no need to do any firmware update)

Thanks for the detailed response Rich. I mean, honestly customers here want it cheaper than 650 but they dont understand that its the lowest price we can actually offer it for. No one gets paid commission at OTTONAVI, so you know the set prices are set prices.

Sometimes, I feel like we should offer it at 700+ just to give our self wiggle room when customers want to in a sense ask for discounts or cheaper price. The customers who got their radios for $650+ will be truly happy when they see that the G3 cannot be offered for the same price. (sorry Rich, we sold out of the g2). In a little defense to our pricing...."mycarrunfaster"

I have looked around, and seen many companies sell there radios for 800-$1200 just like you mentioned because they pay thousands of dollars to advertise when in REALITY the units are FROM CHINA!!!!! I'm not saying cus its from China its bad...after all the iPhone is from China. You can find good quality in China if you pay for it.

We have our own manufacturers that create our own line of products (except for BMW etc), thus can offer it for a cheaper price than leading competitors such as ROSEN or CASKA as mentioned on here but can still do all the same features....

sTILL waiting for the G3 seems like its taking forever....already wanna start testing it to see what the new changes are so we can end all suspense here..

To add to the questions already asked...

    1. What type of plug does the GPS antenna use? I ask because I have a couple of very reliable and rugged external mount antennas here already.
    2. Will your 3rd gen unit support HD radio, and if not is HD radio a feature slotted for an upcoming model?
    3. What is the maximum sized SD card recognized by your device?
And to those that have tinkered with theirs already that had the factory Bluetooth feature in their JBL equipped trucks did you keep the factory arrangement with the factory microphone over the rear view mirror and the output slaved to the drivers door tweeter driver?

Thanks in advance for your answers.

    1. I believe the GPS antenna screws onto the back of the radio, I will try and take a screen shot

2 I don't think the G3 supports the HD Radio, maybe in the near future? Cant say for sure

3.. I think you can use up to 64 GB but I would say 32 GB to be safe. [IMG]

Thanks for the answers and here is a suggestion for those of you using the Windows CE versions. With CE 6.0 Microsoft introduced exFAT as a hard drive format property that you man be able to utilize with an external hard drive that you can plug into the USB ports on your unit. Consider a small laptop drive in an external enclosure that uses USB 2.0 to connect. Do keep in mind that you may have to source a way to provide enough power for the drive to operate as many non PC devices don't have enough power going to their USB leads and since someone mentioned that they could not charge their iPod from the USB port I think this may be the situation you are dealing with. Still, at the end of the day you may be able to provide yourself with a large sized storage alternative.

If you try this let the rest of us know how it works out as I'm certain that Daniel and the rest of us would really like to know how it turned out.

personally i think after doing my research the ottonavi is a POS and for your information let me tell you a little background.
i had contracted a china manufacturer to build some speakers for a new line of audio products i was going to sell for my business.
in china they can build you a set of component speakers complete with woofers, tweets and crossovers in a styrofoam package complete with grilles and hookup wires for a whopping price of 29.00 US
the same speaker set would easily sell for 250.00 retail.
dont tell me things from china are expensive. if i were to guess at the cost of the actual unit you sell that you buy from china my guess would be about 100 bucks!

people in the US have NO IDEA how cheap china can build stuff for.
these people get paid about 5.00 per week and live in the factory where they work for free. they work all 7 days of the week and for 10-12 hours per shift!
when you build things and almost eliminate the cost of labor at every single point of the manufacturing process you can get a finished product pretty cheap!
its no wonder companies send all their manufacturing to china, in the US they would have to raise the price of goods sold to easily 10 times what they cost now if they were made in the US.
as a US based company you would be a fool to compete with your competitors when they can have the same products made for a 10th of what you could to be able to brag about being made in the USA.

i recently bought a backup camera last year for my car on ebay for 1 dollar and $14.00 shipping from china. still works today 1 year later. i know a CCD camera isnt very complicated but for 1 dollar? considering the electronics inside, the package to hold the electronics and the labor to put it all together and it works as advertised!
can you believe that? 1 dollar?
for less than a stick of gum the can make a camera!

and you would have us believe your making a skinny profit? PLEASE!
