The boxes may say G1, but it was an honest mistake by one of our workers. We no longer carried the G1 as of mid December last year. Sorry for the confusion guys. [IMG]

    Hey man,
I got the head unit installed this weekend, and I finally got the GPS working! Anyhow, I need to return the backup camera, so I need an RMA number.
FYI for those of you out there with the factory backup camera, you DO NOT need an additional camera from ottonavi, you can splice right into the factory wiring and get the backup image on the rear view mirror and the monitor at the same time.

Also for those of you considering buying... I like the unit so far, but I have had very little time with it. I'll post a detailed review later, but so far I can tell you the only improvements I would like to see so far are:

The bluetooth streaming isn't very good. Its much softer than the rest of the audio, and not easy to get to.
The iPod cable also does not charge while you use it, which makes its use very limited.
Edit: It does work for some models of iPod, but not other models. You would need to buy an adaptor for some models of iPod to have it charge and play music...

We currently carry an iHarness cable that allows video streaming along with iPod charging....

    Too many to list now.
I like this unit, I want to run the backup camera to my center console to keep an eye on the new baby, is it possible to have it display without having run it through the reverse trigger? Like a switch perhaps? Also, why has no one heard of this company?

it is possible to wire the camera to a switch, i have seen a thread where another member did a mod to have the factory 09+ back up camera on when ever through a switch... and i think that is a great idea to run it to watch your newborn!!

To wire to a switch would be easy, all you need to do is wire a switch to some type of positive output and have it trigger the unit to switch over. You could also run multiple cameras ( one in the front bumper and one rear ) just need to split the composite video cable ( using a Y-splitter ) and have a 3 way switch to activate Front or Rear camera depending on your needs.

Oh, that's a great idea. I never even thought of that.

what do you mean to have a camera inside the car and watch the baby?

i thought the rearview camera is for backing up and see what is going on when parking?

can you have an extra camera to see the rear passenger seats also... how does it work? one rearview camera for parking and another one for the rear passenger one...

please explain to me cause we are waiting for you guys next shipment in... i am on your waiting list... is there extra to get one?

    thank you

" whoever has this idea , you are awesome!!!"

i think he has the factory 09+ back up camera and wanted to add the back up camera from otto navi through a different route. with enough patience and planning you can have as many cameras as you want.. for example you can have one to watch a newborn in the back, then switch to one on the front bumper, as well as one to use to back up.
