Any tips on removing the plastic brackets on the transmission that secure the wiring harness near the breather?

Struggling to get that last bellhousing bolt near the valley that's covered by the wiring. I'm guessing this is the one @jawmes called it a day on...

Today marked 15K miles on it since the conversion, no issues. Also marks 200K put on the truck, celebrating the only way I know how:cool: (this was on private land, calm your tits lol)

Left a parking lot today and noticed an oil spot.. get home and gave it a look. Looks like my entire transfer case is coated in a thin layer of gear oil and slightly dripping at the bottom. Cleaned everything off to see where it’s coming from and notice a couple spots after a few hours accumulating oil at the RTV seal by the rear drive shaft. What should my next plan of action be? Easy enough to disassemble the case myself and reapply the rtv?

the thing that gets me is why was the whole case covered in a thin oil?.. coming from the top at the shifter seal? Appreciate any input y’all might have.
I’ll grab some pictures in the morning if that helps.

Sounds like your shifter base is leaking. Oil takes the path of gravity making it tricky to see exactly where it's coming from if it's been leaking for a while. Clean it all up and inspect again.

Since someone shared above, today, Oct 14, marks 4 years and over 50,000-miles since I converted. I don't know why, except money, I didn't do it sooner. I run so much slower now lol. When the road goes up I pull the magic lever and go in to 4x4. No need to grind off the rear tires. And Moab and snow runs are much better with the magic lever.

Recently did a 4 day trip on the KAT in Kentucky. Got to use 4wd a lot in mud for the first time and it was awesome! Night and day difference in terms of traction. My RTV job held up good too, went through plenty of high water crossings, no issues with the actuator or any part of the 4wd system….unlike @Brian422 who taught me the FJ shifter can break if you don’t weld it good enough:rofl:

I was good friends with Stuart Klein aka Jones, he used to called me Capt. Mazda. Good times with the whole gang at coabuzo.

As well I remember that I pointed out and helped Nicolle bend back in to position the exhaust pipe of the 2nd gen tundra in the San Felipe whoops as well.

Hope everyone had a wonderful thanksgiving! I’m still having issues with this switch harness for the ADD.. the picture is how I have everything wired. The color is () is just the color wire I used.
    47E908F8-E7B7-474C-B28D-A61C3E47B064.jpg
I have checked to make sure I’m getting 12v on 1,6, &8 post and checked any resistance from the switch posts to 1-6 pins on the ADD connection side. All were fine. Pin 3 on ADD side gets 10.4v until I get the engine turned over then I register 12v..

Could I have the wrong switch? It’s a VLD2 20 amp 12v 10 post ON/OFF/ON . I know it’s not the ADD itself since I just replaced it and tested it before install.

Ive left it engaged, so no big deal. Just would like the option of disengaging the front diff for 2lo

It sounds like you either have a defective switch or you miswired something. Without having it in front of me tough to check. Not sure where you're located but bring it by my shop in NJ and I can fix it for you. Your colors don't match up to how I drew that schematic, for example there is no gray wire???

A little update: Just got back from a 5,811 mile offroad trip to Utah/Arizona and let me tell you, I am so glad I did this conversion! I was able to do and see things I would have never been able to do in 2wd. This marks 25,000 miles since I did the conversion (210K total now) and no issues whatsoever. Here's a few photos:
