Agreed. I bought a 4x4 shaft and went through all that pain before I just modified my original. Just be sure to modify it correctly, I got a slip yoke put on the front portion instead of the rear. Idk why I’m like this

it’s been working ok tho despite the mistake lol

Very helpful as well! Did an oil change over the weekend and was trying to envision all the new parts and mount location.

Sweet post man super helpful for me! I’m doing the same thing for my truck right now, and am almost done, but my trannys shifting super hard. Any ideas on what it could be? I check the fluid level about 3 times and it’s good. Almost 100% sure all the electronics are plugged in but I’ll triple check. Junkyard told me if somethings wrong with the tranny they’ll swap it out so I’m not too worried but did anything like this happen to any of you guys? Probably just going to have a professional look at it on Monday to possibly clear some codes if there are any, but just really would suck if I gotta drop the trans and replace it again.

I don’t know if you have seen this in the past but this is the right procedure to check fluid amount, I had some shudder issues, after a cycle and some shudder fix my transmission runs like new, I have put this thing to the test and runs like a dream.

I was getting shudder really bad after a while even after flushes and instant shudder fix additive. The shudder would not be present if I shifted into the 4 position and accelerated slowly from a stop so that confirmed that the problem was the flex lockup in the converter. I replaced it with a rebuilt one from Florida Torque Converters part# 89-90 for V6 models with A750e/f. Refilled with Valvoline MaxLife Full synthetic trans fluid and havent had a single shudder since. My recommendation for anyone doing the conversion is to go ahead and put a new converter in the tranny while it's out. It'll save you the headaches of having to drop the tranny again in the future.
