    I tested mine before hand. I picked up a new loom with rocker switch from @12thstateoffroad, added 12V and a ground to bench test the switch and actuator.

    @pdaddy @Ricardo13x @Yacob_D @will.i.was

    Any reasoning or preference of the A750F vs the R155F? I am going to buy a remanufactured one with warranty, however the A750F is a bit pricey… are there pros and cons between the two that can help me with this decision??

    I’ve got two key parts to source- transmission & transfer case!

    Got it- thanks @6 gearT444E feels like a dumb question now… given this, do I have any other options besides the A750F?

    If you want to convert to a manual trans, you can swap in either an RA60F, RA61F, or RC62F depending on your wants and parts cost/availability.

    The rabbit hole goes deeper… thanks @6 gearT444E I appreciate the suggestion but looks like A750F is it for me.

    The R155 is also a manual and the A750 is a automatic. I'm sure you knew that, but just for anyone else following along. The A340 is the 4 banger automatic.

    Ive seen some certified and warrantied remains go for upwards to 2.5k in some cases. A 6 month warrantied used transmission can be found for around $1000 shipped on lkq/ebay/copart.

    I used car-part.com to search junkyards. There are a bunch listed with ~65k miles for about $1k. I watched and waited and found a 5-sp manual from a 3rd gen with only 16k miles for $600. Just gotta be patient.

    An 07 FJ with a front-end collision just popped at my local Pick-N-Pull. Pulled this thread from bookmarks and started gathering tools in a hurry, but on closer inspection- someone wrecked a 2wd FJ.

    F@&#ing Good riddance.

    .....Alas, the wait continues.....

    Hey. Is there a way to convert it to a 4x4 with the Tacoma 4WD switch instead of the lever most use in convertions?1S7433__ra_p.jpg

    Sure. You need the 4WD ECU. And a lot more wiring to make it all work.

    yes but takes a tremendous amount of extra work for an inferior system.

    yes its alot of wiring and you also have to switch out your computer if im not mistaken. Also you have to rely on a computer that might tell you it cant shift into 4wd. Where as the manual one you pull the lever and thats it.

    Anything is possible with enough time. Most conversions exclusively provide a solution to the clunky add/4x4 system by utilizing a manual lever. You cant tell me this isnt desirable :D
