With all the Taco owners ditching their Tcases for the FJ it seems there should be a plethora of Taco cases out there. Someone needs to make a cable shifter to replace the actuator on the Taco case. I've seen some sketchy homemade ones but nothing production.

Sketchy was the wrong word. Creative I should have said

@MA_TACO @Ricardo13x @Brian422 Hey guys I just got my transfer case & came up with two follow up questions on this

    1. What did you do with the neutral wiring? Just let it hang?
    2. Any suggestions on good cleaning solution for the transfer case? Luckily no rust, but it needs a little TLC, was going to start with a degreaser and go from there.

I grounded the neutral wire to the transfer case. I used Purple Power to clean up the grime and then repainted it with VHT Aluminum Engine Enamel. Looked like new when I was done. Of course it's caked in mud currently.

Awesome will look into the Purple Power & VHT Aluminum... regarding the neutral, just to clarify, I am referencing the green wirings on the transfer case (not the neutral wires of the H/L sensors) ... is that the wiring you grounded or do I need to hook the Nuetral to anything- I'm assuming that wiring was for a sensor when the vehicle was put in neutral & is not needed to be utilized in this project.

Techs in our shop use Dawn dish soap in a spray bottle instead of any degreaser. Works better and is cheaper.

That other connector I just left hanging and zip tied it The ones I grounded were for the H/L switches.

Small update: Coming up on 30K miles since the conversion, still no issues. I got a beater 04 Camry with 275K miles to commute in so I don’t gotta rack up 70 miles everyday on the taco. And it gets 32mpg!

I also completely remade my rear bumper to be high clearance. @beertimecontinuum do I still get your DYF of approval? :D
Still gotta figure out the tire carrier lock mechanism but I love how it turned out, even if it looks like “Helen Keller” fabbed it up:anonymous::boink: @MattCowsmasher

im starting to piece my 4x4 swap together...i know everyone says just buy a 4x4, but my truck is far from stock and the money spent just to swap it over n getting oem parts again isn't worth it. Cheaper doing a conversion.

OOF, yeah I know what you mean. The secondary market just doesn't value the $$ you have already spent on mods.
