Is it normal for the transfer case to move a little under throttle? Or does that mean I need to beef up my crossmember more because it's torquing?
Or is that normal because I don't have solid transmission mounts and that rubber joint has movement on purpose?

Sorry just some tired anxious thoughts lol

With stock engine mounts the TC shifter will move with engine torque...normal operation.

600 miles, had a transfer case leak but I was checking torque and 2 of the shifter plate bolts backed out lol. Tightened them back up with some blue loctite and it disappeared.
Going to go over and retorque everything before I do a shakedown run and hit the trails!

What viscosity are you guys using for the manual fj cruiser transfer case? I’m getting mix information on this one.

So I got a dumb question. I’m changing both wheel bearings and the passenger side was really difficult to come off. Seems like the threads are off. Visually they look okay but the nut does not go past the cotter pin hole without a ratchet and some torque. The drivers side goes on okay but seems to “bite” if that makes sense. As in, it needs the socket to spin and doesn’t feel smooth as it turns.

Is it okay for me to clean up the threads on the passenger side? Is it normal behavior for the drivers side?

OR should I replace the axles?:bananadead:

    thank you:fingerscrossed:

Clean the threads on the nut and the axle, thread by hand and send it with the impact gun :headbang:
