Im actually taking my adjusters license final exam on Monday to be a registered Auto adjuster in AL. Look into a agreed value policy. I think i might get one for my truck. They are usually offered when the value of something is difficult to determine.

Just as a quick follow up, I experienced some slight transmission shudder(feels like a fast and barely noticeable vibration) is somewhat expected on the A750 platform based on the research I did. I noticed that at slow takeoff and did it between 2nd and 3rd gear only when on D. Anyway, I had planned to drop the pan, clean the magnets and replace de filter and take a look. During the research I found a product called instant shudder fixx PN: 19680 by lubegard. Bought it from orileys. For about 9 dlls. So, when I drained the pan I got about 5qt’s out of it(used a measuring transparent bucket and marked it to put the same amount back), it wasn’t in bad shape but the plan was supplying fresh AWS after some test miles. Anyway, removed the filter, service the 4 magnets(yes, mine had 4) no big or metallic shavings were found. Put the new filter, set the magnets, secured the oil pan with new gasket, torque to specs, refill with the same amount taken out of fresh new Toyota ATF AWS, put the 4oz of shudder fixx and test drove the truck. Felt like a dream and the transmission shudder completely disappeared. Give the product a 10/10. Cheers. Ps. The 4x4 was put to the test and works like a dream I am truly impressed with the Toyota 4x4 capability.

Since this is a thread for dummies, did you have to jack up the truck to pull out the transmission? Or do you have lift/tires to get around that?

Thank you for a great thread

I had to jack up one side to take out and put the new one in…but what really happened was the old tranny wasn’t tied down good on the hydraulic table and it kind of fell on the ground. From there, I had to jack up one side of the truck and roll it out:rolleyes:

hahaha that's great. I'm hoping I can do the ugga duggas while the tires are still on the ground, then jack it up after..

Saving the rest of my questions until I man up and order some parts:D

Haha. I had a similar thing happen to me. It fell off onto my leg while I was under the truck. And I was kinda stuck there for awhile trying to get out.

Depends/most likely. You’ll need to measure the height of the jack and the Trans when together. Unless you’re on 37s and a low profile trans jack you’ll need to:

    1. Jack it up high enough to begin with
    2. Slide the Trans off and somehow get it back on the jack once under (do not recommend)
    3. Jack up one side (if you haven’t torn front end apart and still have wheels on)

    I don’t recommend #2. Don’t ask :anonymous:

it works, but only if you switch the shifter plate. The shaft/ball pivot are the same, only difference really is the mount to the TCase on either.

Maybe I was lucky, my case came with a baseplate. They just removed the snap ring as shifter lever. Had intended to use this but ended up getting a shifter from someone else, will he selling this one.

    Alright I just ordered
    • Transmission - '06 Tacoma
    • Front/Rear Driveshaft - '06 Tacoma
    • 3.73 Front Differential - '06 Tacoma
    • FJ Cruiser A/T Transfer Case - '07 FJ
Total came to $1,950 with shipping

I'm told the transfer case is coming with the shifter attached, and the other parts are coming from the same vehicle.
Why convert a PreRunner??? BECAUSE WE CAN:oldglory:
