Can anyone please measure the center sliding portion of the rear window?

Mine is broken and I need to know the correct dimensions to have a new one made up a the local glass shop. I dont have any options at the scrap yards around here and ordering from ebay will cost me over $200 vs the $50 at a glass shop.

Please try to be as exact as possible, its mainly the height dimension Im not totally sure of.

If you don't get any measurements, I'll get the ruler out Sunday when I'm home.

Not sure, but I think it may also have a curve in it.

From my experience what your trying to do will not work that well, the measurements you get will be the rough opening and not the actual glass size. When that window is built, it is built around the slider (tracs\frame) so the rough opening will be loose and rattle around on you. I would expand your search across the country because you can find a good window and have it shipped to you for a decent price. I would also try a piece of plexi glass as a temporary solution until you find a window works really well. Good luck with it.

Take the truck to an automotive glass shop, have them measure and install.

You want safety glass, not standard glass shop glass.

Also, an automotive glass shop may have access to dimensions of such things.

    Hey guys!

Thanks for all the input. I decided to go ahead and just use a piece of tinted plexi glass i got from a plastic shop, only cost me $10 cut and sanded.. I had to heat it up and bend it to give it the same curve as the rear windows so that it would actually make a seal without needed to be double sided taped... worked out pretty well.

For anyone in the future wondering, I dimensions I used were 13.5" tall x 13" wide.

If it was going to be real glass I would have had to cut it shorter in height to be able to get it in, but because it was plastic, I was able to flex it into place and I needed it to be tite to hold the outward flex and make a seal. Considering I have a cap on my truck, this will most likely end up as my permanent fix.

    Cheers.

Hi, this is exactly what I'm looking for. I also have a topper and want to skip the luxury of glass to have a more durable plexiglass. Mine broke pulling a pipe through the window. Plus, because my topper has tinted glass on it's window now I'll be able to get non-tinted plexi and have more visibility at night.

Is there anything you would change regarding your installation? What thickness plexi did you use? Thanks!

I just did this but saw someone else used 13 5/16 x 13 5/16 as their dimensions. Here's the link. I went with theirs but could see how either of yours would fit. I also used plastic, poly-carbonate specifically. It was much easier to fit into place because I could bend it considerably and not worry about removing the seal. It's perfectly clear and I didn't want to bother with it ever breaking again.

Interesting you were able to bend it because I now see the issue you noticed where this plastic is flat and the glass is curved. I wasn't sure how well my bend job would be so thought I would try to fix it with additional trim seal. I never open this window unless I need to put materials through it.

This thread is old but thought I'd update it with my experience.
