Not the same price as before, but this is a new link for a 'kit'... http://www.trdparts4u.com/scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=-5551

Alternatively you can look up each of the part numbers individually.

I am very glad this thread has stuck around here so long. I just began referencing back to it to put DRLs on my 2003 4Runner (same parts / similar process), and I just now realized how long the thread is. I am sorry that I haven't been able to answer any questions lately... life happened.

Thank you to all of you that helped others out along the way.

    Cheers!

    Too many to list now.
I'm confused. When my lights are off my dtrl's come on as is...not sure what this mod does other than maybe bypasses the light selection and automates it maybe? Ie you don't have to spin the lever to the second position for the lights?

This is for people to install DRL on to trucks that do not have DRL. You already have DRL. Nothing for you to see here :D

The front page? The first post? What does it need?

I resigned as a moderator last year. I am not on here enough to justify it. I don't know if I can edit it, but if it needs change I can see about it.

The new link to the kit.
I just ordered it and it's on the way.
    Very simple to get.
Went and ordered the switch too.
Now I'll have to install it.
    Thanks

    OK
    I did the mods!!
    Great wright up.
So I was wondering ,why this could't be tied into the running light switch that is in the stearing wheel stick? You turn the stick to the first click and they come on with all the other lights?? HHHmm:confused:
    Thanks
    Sean

Saw this thread and loved the look of the DRL's, I have a 2008 and didn't have DRL's (bought used), anyways, I ordered the jumper and relay and installed them two nights ago, LOVE THE LOOK! ..here's pics.. :D

I do have 2 questions though...

    1. after reinstalling everything and reconnecting the battery, it seems my idle is running high. Is this the ECU relearning my driving patterns due to disconnecting the negative cable from the battery as others have stated in other threads? It took me awhile to do this mod because I had trouble getting the rear "gray cap fuse" out of the fuse box (longer then 45mins and I got fat fingers). Did anyone else experience this? I just feel it drives a tad differently now. Will it start to settle back into its original driving conditions?

    2. I believe this question was asked before but not answered (from what I saw) The blinker is louder then it was before after installing the jumper and relay, this isn't a really big deal but has anyone else had this? Any way to change it so the noise isn't so noticeable?

Thanks again for the awesome mod! Lovin' it! :)

I just did this mod using the DIY guide and no issues/problems on my 2012 Regular cab model. See attached pic. Excellent DIY!

The only real trouble I had was removing the existing flasher from the box. But once I was able to muscle it out, everything went back into it's own plug.

For a manual, the lights come on once the parking brake is released and don't turn off until the headlights are turned on or the engine is turned off. I keep looking at them in the reflections in cars ahead of me. They look good! :)
