Do you have to have the wiring to the turn signals or do all tacomas have them already I have a 06 pre runner Trd sport ?

Installation of DRL uses existing wiring and has nothing to do with the turn signal units. You have to change the turn signal flasher on the backside of the fuse panel. Here is a thread on the installation of DRL. Do some research in this thread about bulbs. The OEM bulbs can melt the amber plastic for the original assemblies.

Dont know if its been said already, but to anybody who does this, when you remove the actual dash, be very careful of the small metal clip that holds the dash together right near the power mirror controls. When I did this mod, i lost the clip, and the dash never fit together flush again. The clip is sort of "spring" loaded, and I think it can go flying upon removal. I ordered the clip (only $2.00) and fixed it easily.

Is there a way to run this mod with dual color LED like the Switchback: http://www.autolumination.com/switchback.html
I like having amber turn signals but I want white DRLs. Do I need a resistor? Is it bad to have an always on light through a resistor? I'm assuming this mod switches automatically between always on DRL to hazards or turn signal direction right?

So I did the modification and I want my DRL to stay on when I turn on my headlights. What other modification do I need to perform?

Help please - I have a 2005 Tacoma withOUT DRL but I purchased replacement headlights that include low voltage halo and LED "eyebrows" as a part of the assembly - as I notice now, the headlights are clearly marked for DRL compatible Tacomas and I just missed the fact that I didn't have one. So question for this thread is: If I use this 2 part Mod suggested here to establish DRL, then tie in the LEDs to that circuit, will LEDs also flash with turn indicator? Of course the desired effect, is the LEDs take on the function of the DRLs, meaning they are lit when the headlights are off. Side note: the other option Im considering is tying into the Parking Lights, but for some reason Parking Lights not working. Trouble shooting that now as well. Thanks in advance for any help.

I'd like to know also.. I am about to get those same headlights with the led things in them.. Wasn't sure if anyone has done it yet on the older 05's or not.

I gotta revive this dead thread lol honestly I didn't read all 25 pages because lazy sunday. so I have an 05. ive recently upgraded my rear turns to LED and as opposed to putting isolators on everything for $15 and then having to do the same later when I do my headlight turns I opted for an LED compatible relay for $8 essentially saving $22. so I'm familiar with this install process to say the least. my actual question is since I have an 05, could this mod be done with an LED switchback?that way you have DRL and still maintain your front turns in the process. surely so. what would the wiring for that require?

hey tw I have successfully installed the oem 13 headlight switch with the drl off option20161204_161057.jpg . the 05-12 are missing 1 white wire.20161204_161012_001.jpg I had bought a 13 steering column with wheel and everything was plug and play except the white wire wasn't there. so I ran a extension wire from the switch to the drl harness.20161204_161043.jpg I spliced into the green with red stripe wire and deleted it out of the white plug as it is no longer getting power from that end anymore.I was going to just put in a plain jane switch but I wanted it to look more factory. thought I would share this for those who are interested.

Question for everyone in here, First off ik new to this site but I have looked and read things that yall posted on here. Anyways I'll get to the Chase. @007Tacoma I have a 2005 Tacoma access cab, I read how to install the factory OEM DRL mod the only thing I'm confused on and I am sorry about this I'm 28 and again knew to this so I apologize to you and everyone one else on here, but do I only the relay part number 82241-04030 or do I need the jumper as well? Part number is 81980-35020. Please help me understand the part that confused me on all this is the 4Runner conversation. So if you can reverify for me if I need just the relay part or the jumper part or both for my 2005 Tacoma that would help me out a lot before I order.

Also living in Kentucky do they do rush delivery? Who else has this or both part numbers that I can walk in and buy if need be? Besides here and TOYOTA dealer ship? Idk what there price would be either. If @007Tacoma or anyone else can help me with this I'd be happy and I could help anyone with a fig light mod if anyone wants it.
Thanks again and glad to be here. will post pics soon!

I understand that but do I need them both or just the relay? @007Tacoma says " the installation works on 2003-2009 4Runners but you will not use the jumper. That you only need the relay part number." So that's what I'm confused on before I purchase. Do I need both or Just the relay for my 05 taco.?
