So at 125k and being replaced once under warranty both headlamps are fogged over and melted over the turn signal / dlr and I want new ones but don't want to pay oem price.

    Any suggestions for aftermarket?

My 05 has fogged up headlights too. Looking for that clear crisp performance and look. TSB? Time to do some research.

I dont remember a tsb on the headlight itself. But they do have one for the turn signal that gets to hot and melts. If it melts the headlights they will replace it

There is a new warranty on DRL melting lenses , they replace the entire headlight assembly , couple new threads on it

Am i missing something? If it's under warranty why arent you just getting new factory ones... OEM price should not be something you are discussing in this situation:confused::confused:

I just replaced mine as I got tired of polishing them. While I normally buy only Toyota Parts I decided to try the aftermarket this time. I purchased mine online from AM-Autoparts for $126.15 a pair. They came quickly and looked good. They came with bulbs too but I used my existing bulbs as they are brighter than stock.

Before you install them take a reference shot at your garage door or some object and mark the beam. Also go to the Toyota house and purchased some plastic tabs as you will bugger up the old ones.

Then proceed with installation. The 10mm bolt on the side is a bugger and I removed one plastic tab and one bolt on each fender and pushed the edge of the moulding to get to that 10 mm bolt. Otherwise it is just like the example instructions posted above via you tube,

After the installation I had to adjust the beam vertically on each headlight, your results may vary. I did not silicon seal the seams of each headlight but if they fog up I will. Took about an hour to perform the installation.

I have been impressed with the stock style headlights as they put out an impressive beam with those monster parabolic reflectors. I was not willing to install the aftermarket Halo units as they do not put out as much light.

    Good Luck on your installation.

    Spock Out!

No, not SOL. they updated it, and now consider it a safety issue. It is till just a TSB, but no longer has mileage/warranty restraints. just go to the dealer before 2015 and you're good.
