I think that's pretty safe to say you found your culprit

I wish you were right my friend, still bubbling over. I hate to say it but out comes the motor.

A defective thermostat is not going to cause a coolant loss. Just saying...

Sounds like head gasket leaking. Sometimes the gasket fails in such a way that the compression from the cylinder enters the coolant system. This can cause air lock which may make your heater lines and tad lines go cold, this will also cause the overflow to bubble over and would explain where you are loosing your coolant. Some times it is hard to diagnose because the gasket has failed in such a way that the engine needs to be hot. Most people do compression and coolant pressure checks when the engine is cool and easier to work on. Try doing a cylinder pressure test when the engine is warm, this may help you find out which cylinder is the cause. Or pull both heads off and change both gaskets. If you do pull heads, I would recommend taking them to a machine shop to have them decked. This service is fairly cheap and while ensure that you don’t put a warped head back on.

After a test run it bubbles over, going to pull the motor next week when I Finish this 4runner. Doing both heads. Next question is factory gaskets or fellpros?

So how does your oil look? I asked the other day but people were heading towards the water pump as the problem. If your head gasket's leaking, one of the things that can happen is you can get coolant in the oil, which makes the oil cloudy or milky. I had a leaking intake gasket on an old car that did the same thing. When it first started it was just a few wisps but as it got worse, it churned the entire oil system into chocolate ice cream.

Oil looks as it should. From my understanding 05-06 had a poor head or head gasket design (not sure what one hopefully some one can touch on that) in a 15 min drive the truck pushed coolant into the over flow and out of it from it being at half full when I left.
I’m sure this will get mixed feelings but should I buy factory Toyota head gaskets or is there some thing better? I was thinking on doing arp head studs what are some thoughts on that?

Well it was the head gasket. Pulled it out Wednesday got it all tore down. Had the heads machined. Replaced the gaskets and head bolts with factory Toyota parts. Had it all back in and running Sunday morning. So far no bubbles and is running like it should. I didn’t take very many pictures but in the scheme of things it’s just all nuts and bolts went pretty smooth.
