I went through a diet phase. Anything that wasn't required to make the truck run went in the scrap heap. I got it down to 4000 lbs combat loaded, which is less than stock weight. I also shifted the center of gravity rearward to just under the driver seat. It flies good now.

So... No airbags? Is it street legal in all 50 states?

What, are you a cop? I don't know if it's "street legal" or not. I know that cops don't like it, but none of them have ever figured out what kind of ticket to write. One cop said "that's not street legal! It's a racecar! And called his supervisor to verify. The CHP officer that was backup had just returned from a fatal rollover and said "if you just saw what I saw you would hope all cars had roll cages." and let me go. The airbags are useless with 5 point harnesses. If airbags worked as advertised then all race cars would have them. As a former tow truck driver I can tell you they cause more injuries than they prevent.

Yep. Bad ass truck. It's the model for the mods I'm making to my Taco. And, yes, if I had 30K to spare, I'd buy it. Curious how it drives with the 37's on the road.

Who cares about the fuckin dash already? It's not a show pony for fuck's sake! Buy it and put a dash on it yourself if it's that important. Good God. That'd be the last vehicle I would ever get rid of but GLWS................

I decided to mod it some more so it works for what I do now instead of starting a new build. It's coming together slowly but surely. I laid a bunch of kevlar over the soundproofing and did some other proprietary stuff so I can't really get rid of it now anyway. Well I could, but it would take a lot of thermite. Also VA dude, it runs down the freeway at 80 and you can drive it with one finger. The tires are loud, but not swamper loud. I also balanced them with 1200 airsoft BB's per tire and centered the tire carefully when mounting them on the beadlocks. The neverending build continues...

Was reading on the first page and read you were stationed in germany around 06? My buddy used to be an army sniper and was stationed there around the same time. He had a 04 Red extra cab taco not to long before he came home.

That is one sick ass rig.

Yes. It's common practice for those running "real" beadlocks on the street. There are several commercial companies offering their own brand, but they are all pretty much the same as airsoft bb's from walmart.http://www.innovativebalancing.com/index.php
I had a buddy with an 85 yota on 44" swampers that ran golf balls in his tires to balance them, it worked ok and made cool whizing sounds at stop lights too.

I might have worked with him, who knows.

Calm down scooter, it's got one now. Just need to figure out some trim pieces and finish it up. Yes, I'm aware it isn't a traditional dash, but I wanted to build a dash that was also a ballistic shield.
