Sonjay im not sure if its at a specific place or not yet. I havent got enough VIN's with the problems that mine and Tacogrande has had yet, as well as others. If they give me their VIN's I will be able to find out if it was at a specific place or not. Been trying to ask people but no replys yet. Actually I just found out Sonjay that hayes_mah, on Toyotanation.com, tacoma was built in Freemont too.

All the frames are made by Dana Corp, here in the USA. Regardless of where the Tacoma is assembled. Best idea of finding out about the affected Tacos is build date, not VIN. Build date will reflect when the frames were reinforced, and when Toyota, or Dana Corp became aware of the issue.

Hmmm, well in that case everyone start looking on your door panels who have had the issue and look at the build date. Wish I could look at mine....it will be back next week and out of the hands of Toyota for now

Whoa.. Those are some nasty looking pictures. I doubt this will be of issue on the late model pickups, but i am still glad i got the 100k extended warrenty...

I wouldn't be surprised if a class action suit arises from this issue. If it hasn't already, maybe some of the affected should look into such a thing with the proper attorneys. Expert witness' will be a must.

Your 100k warranty i dont think will cover the frame, but I could be wrong. Make sure to look into it for sure and see what it covers. Just a heads up

i think the 100k will cover your drivetrain etc but i dont know about the frame. Im suprised toyota even covers their frames after the last tacomas, they might as well put a sign up saying "Buying Tacoma At Own Risk". Dont get me wrong I love my Toyota and its better out in the woods then any other mid-size truck out there. Just frustrated I guess.

he should be ok, but the 06 welds arent much better then the 05's so just check em to make sure. Its mostly an 05 thing but the 06 welds are kinda shitty too. Also the 07-09 welds are beefed up and have extra support and should be ok

I know but I think they are trying to figure out if they fixed it late in the 06 year or waited for 07.

Fairly certain mine is late build '05 (I'll check in a minute). Went under the truck Today while it was on the lift and the mounts don't have any (visible) issue on my truck (knock on wood)

yeah i think we both thought that their wouldnt be. So in the late model 05's they didnt have the added reinforcements. Does anyone who has looked at this forum have an early built 07? Or a late build 06?
