I have an 05 DCLB Prerunner that has been the best truck I've owned. 6 months ago I bought a new 15 DCLB Prerunner (same color), no one really noticed. I passed on my old truck to my grandson, it has 275,000 miles and still runs great!. I see on this forum other enthusiast selling their takeoff suspension parts and was thinking that this might be a good way to get a set of replacement shocks for my old truck. My question; are OEM shocks (from TRD Off road or TRD sport editions) a viable option or is there some that would not make a good fit for my prerunner?
Thanks for your response(s) and help. Great site!

They are perfectly viable if you want to maintain the old truck as completely stock. If you wanted to upgrade o would recommend Bilstein 5100s for the front and back shocks. The front shocks are also adjustable so your grandson can have a mild lift if he's interested in that

You could use them if you can get a good price on them but honestly, I'm sure others will agree or say something similar, you're better off with something else. If you are going to be replacing them anyway, you can get some 5100s for a good price. It'll give you a better suspension for a good price versus buying OEM shocks. Unless you just would prefer to buy OEM then that'll work as well.

    Thanks for the quick responses,
It's not that I would like to keep it stock, it is that in some cases, the take-offs are quite reasonably priced. Lifting for me was not a great desire. I replaced both sides wheel hubs bearings twice, so I'm afraid that lifting and larger tires would somehow impact that particular part more often. I was always satisfied with the original stance of the Prerunner. Thanks again!
