    repost, but definitely interesting. is it worth the swap? my 4.0l does not have enough power. if im facing a headwind, going 65, i have to give it almost foot to the floor to keep at 65. with an extra 500lbs in the truck. i would thin the 4.0l would pull through no problem. i like the idea of a D4D, but will it have more guts?

    I put a 3.9L Cummins diesel in mine two weeks ago... Alright, alright, it was in the bed of the truck, but I did have a diesel in it. Hauled it for a buddy of mine who is doing a diesel conversion for his Land Rover.

    With enough time, money and knowledge, you can put damn near any engine in the Tacoma, physical size being the limiting factor... :cool:
