Bought this new and it now has 207k+ miles and well maintained. Lately I have been chasing my first CEL and now believe to be the vapor canister. I have an OEM complete on the way. Strongly considering dropping the fuel tank and replacing all parts related. I spend time each fall in New Mexico, Colorado and Utah running the backroads alone and far away from parts. Just curious if anyone has any opinions as to aftermarket brands, etc.

    Thanks in advance

For the fuel pump I'd stick with OEM/Denso, most aftermarket stuff is hit or miss on quality anymore.

You can use that just be aware you will need to properly disassemble and reassemble the tank unit to install it.

As far as I know @Up2NoGood has no plans to produce any more, occasinally used ones come for sale in the BST section but they are usually snatched up pretty quickly.

I have yet to find a "Denso" with complete assembly. Found a "Delphi" and that's a name that I recognize. I'm not the least bit wary off disassembling or reassembling. It's just that everything associated has 200k+ also.

Also trying to find fuel lines complete. Question: these have quick connect/disconnect fittings. Do most just replace the high pressure fuel lines and reuse the connections?

If it was just the vapor canister you probably could have saved some money and gone with one from a junkyard. Usually the only times I have seen the vapor canister go bad is when people over fill their fuel tank and allow fuel to saturated the canister.

As for fuel pump go with OEM or with Denso replacement parts. I haven't been able to find a full assembly from Denso other than in the stealership but I have been able to find the pump unit it self on rockauto.

Thanks! 62 y/o and my 3rd Toyota (85, 92, 05). I say this because not having car notes allows to better maintain same. When I purchased this one, a woman at the dealership told me stop at the click as you describe and I have always done this. At 207k+ it presented codes for the first time ever. I replaced fuel cap and purge valve w/o success. The filter has no visible leaks but a somewhat strong smell. I also spend a lot time in remote areas, i.e. New Mexico, Colorado, Utah...I just at a point in life where I don't have to watch the cost. So, much and easier to change to new stuff and not fool with old stuff that stuff that fails and then requires a repeat.

There should be no need to replace the fuel lines unless you happen to break one taking it off.
They are quick connect fittings that have plastic clips holding them on.

Hoses under there are kind of on the stiff side. I have the pliers that make the not so quick fittings easier. I also have a full roll of 3/8" fuel injection rated line. Thanks again

This is the issue I am having right now.
Advanced auto carries the entire unit but without rock auto carrying the entire unit I cannot get the price match!

I got the Delphi one and it is working just fine for now. I am planning to rebuild my old pump but getting a new denso pump to replace inside my original pump.

I had issues with mine. It was missing the tab to lock the pump assembly to the tank, so it would just spin when tightening the ring, and then the truck had issues starting. Would start and then die. Truck ran lean and then threw cat codes.

Do they not sell the entire assembly as one? Why does Denso not offer it all together? Are they trying to be annoyingly different?
