my 05 tacoma was rear ended this weekend, i was on the freeway at a stop, a Nissan sentra rear ended a rav4 that slammed into me and another car everyone was okay but i dont think my truck is in good shape....the frame is bent on both sides where the hitch attaches to the frame. the passenger side frame has a few wavy spots after the leaf spring mount. what do you guys think... is it fixable or is the insurance company going to total my truck? its a 05 prerunner with 170k

With the frame and cab damage, it’s totaled 3 times over for a ‘05 prerunner.

Holy Fuck I'm surprised this thing would pass a State Inspection let alone be on the road.

    totaled?=yes
    fixable?=yes
Buy back if dirt cheap then fix to keep as 2nd vehicle or resell?=YES!
Hell, this thing will still drive as is. I have seen worse on the road. This might me one time that the rust was in your favor in weakening that damage area before further frame damage can occur.

Yep, what he said. It's totaled!! Buy it back & find a work-from-home body man to piece a bumper back on it & drive it.

Totalled, yes. Fixable, maybe. Depending on if the cab damage came from the bed shifting on the mounts or if there is a bend in the frame further forward than the bumper.

Sentra and Rav4 are both toast.

Ouch! I suspect it's totaled as well. Glad y'all are ok. RIP truck. I had a 2002 v6 OR MT, rolled it in the mountains last December. I contemplated keeping it and fixing it up, but I already have a hundred projects on my plate, so I bid farewell to her. Had been pining over a 2nd gen anyway...

Those other cars though... wow. I can't get my front and rear aftermarket bumpers fast enough.

If it's totaled (it's totaled), are you gonna look for another 2nd gen?

Probably cell phone, or possibly playing with one's self..... Not paying attention is not an excuse.
