Hi Kolunatic - I saw your post on the "Drumming up interest" thread that I started in the 2nd Gen forums, and I didn't mean to confuse anyone. This is, of course, the original GB thread. I just started that thread on the other forum to generate interest in THIS thread/group buy.

Ok, I spoke with Kolunatic and he's in for Diamond Plate (or will go smooth if we can't get 4).

The OP (mizhop), Kolunatic, and myself (MQQSE) want Diamond Plate Aluminum. We need one more. I'll commit to the group buy if/when we get a fourth.

I know this is still early on but what kind of time frame are we looking at before we order for the GB? Couple weeks, couple months etc..?

 

Good question. Hopefully Eric wiil chime in. I say as soon as Eric can schedule it the better.

 

I say we hit 15 before opening for orders in case someone bails. Then give a couple days to get all orders in and we'll get all material ordered after that.
Fab Time should be about 2 weeks for bare and an extra 1-2 weeks for powder coat depending on how long the powder coater takes to get me the parts back

 

Mike, I highly suggest if you want in on this, you're going to have to add your name to the list and check in here fairly regularly, as it looks like this is going to go through.

Ok, so let's keep bringing this to the front ... we need 3 more. I can understand Eric wanting us to get to 15. Things happen and people have to drop out; is what it is. He has to protect his bottom line while still giving us a GB rate.

What's the appeal of the diamond plate ?

 

Personally I just like it and my toolbox is diamond plate aluminum. My main reason for wanting the reinforcement is loading my four wheelers. I've been using a board over it for that purpose since I bought the truck 4 1/2 yrs ago.

 

Well, this is disappointing. But I understand. Let's whip it up summore!

This is easy:
If you look past the dent, the reflection is my ol' man's '95 Taco.






This happened when I tried to load my ol' man's bike up in the back when he broke down. Having the tailgate collapse was very upsetting. It was a LOT worse than it is now, he pushed it mostly back in, but you can obviously see where it happened. My truck is a worker, but I don't like it looking any crappier than it has to, you understand.

 

Here's mine installed. I have some scratches but other wise it's holding up great! Installed with a Truxedo LoPro QT and a BAMF CB antenna mount.

 

Add me to the list for a smooth aluminum powder coated one. I'd like to get a set of hood hinge light brackets too.
