This thread is chilling. I bought a Tacoma because I did not feel carting my two small kids around in a 2 door Honda Accord was a good idea. I loved that car but I love my kids and my health more. I'm glad to hear you are recovering and making good progress. How much has this changed your outlook and perspective on life? I was in a bad accident about 6 years ago. I was fine but the other lady was not. All I could do was pray for her. I still dont know how she is. That accident made me look at things much differently. I opened my eyes to life and started doing and experiencing alot more of life. Learned a lot about myself and I have become a better person for it.

You made it and no one died - are you Irish, because while you had the misfortune of sleeping while driving, your luck was unreal.

Glad you're making progress - you will run one day, because where there's a will, there's a Goddamn way!

Wow! Definitely the worst wrecked taco I've ever seen.
Does anybody know what happened with him? Kinda fell off the grid here. Hope he had a full recovery.

OP, Hope you are doing well, you're very fortunate you lived, and I hope you are healing well.

    Looks like it.
If it were my truck there'd be a lot more shells scattered everywhere (I keep about 18 in my center console)

I just came aross this. I CANNOT believe you're alive after looking at those pictures. You sir are very blessed. You're an inspiration, because most people would be depressed and basically give up, but you're walking again and on your way to getting a new truck. Major props to you dude. Wish you the best in your recovery!

It's probably pointless to say that a steel bumper probably would have helped well probably not. Good luck on the recovery

Was the trucker okay? Any pictures of his rig?

Glad you're recovering, and it definitely serves as a reminder to always drive safely. I woke up driving 70 through a ditch running parallel to the highway when I was in high school...that was all it took for me.
