    hi all,

First post on the forum, though I've read here a lot and found tons of good info already :)

The title is my question. Will 05 Tacoma TRD wheels fit on my totally stock 04 Tacoma TRD?

Thanks for all the info this far and for any innthe future!

That's a nice truck. I really wish Toyota would bring this color back on a 3rd gen

2nd and 3rd gen wheels have less backspacing than the 1st gen does so you may encounter rubbing. I’m running LT265/75R16 BFG KO2’s and my tires rub the upper control arm at full lock.

Spacers made my rubbing worse actually. At 1.25 I rubbed the mud flaps. At 1.75 I rubbed the frame... badly.

Sounds like too much tire, not enough lift. There are also the spacers that slide over the studs. They defeat the hub centric on the wheel though. Also depends on the truck. My 03 rubbed the frame with 265/ 70s but my 02 no rubbing 265/75s both stock suspension and wheels

    Radiant red FTW

My 5 year old nephew thinks I drive a fire truck whenever he sees mine.

It's the only red that I think looks good. It reminds me of my BMW E30. These current reds just don't do it for me. They look like they're geared towards older gals

I have a 2.5” lift and new SPC upper control arms going in so hopefully that gets rid of the rubbing. It just barely barely rubs it, and you only notice it when you’re turning hard or parking in tight spaces.

I was always a black or gray (nuetral shades) car guy but when I was looking for a first gen, I couldn't be too picky about the color especially when I found this one with only 24k miles. The red has really grown on me.

This is what a Tacoma should look like. Simple, clean, modest size, good scale to all the lines of the vehicle and trim.

If that's what a 3rd gen looked like I'd probably buy one. :D

    Very nice.

Thanks! I found this 1st gen with 65k miles and had to have it. Weird coincidence, my '12 WRX is also red and I found that used as well. Turns out that red is the most expensive color of paint (as I recently found out while pricing supplies to paint the shell I have for it) so perhaps manufacturers are reluctant to use red as much these days.

As for tire size, they are currently 245/75, but I have some 265/70 I'm about ready to put on. Hopefully I won't have have any issues.
