Houston, Katy, TX. I was yesterday at dealer to take care of the some recalls and asked about transmission service. I was told that full flush is $199. 1 quart of the trans fluid at the dealer is $10. I am thinking now that I will let dealer to do this service once I hit 60k miles in few months.

If I recall correctly, Toyota recommends 50 or 60K full ATF flush for severe duty service. I would stick to this mileage plan for all Tacomas. Do two flushes, then replace filter on the third. I changed out the filter on the 2nd flush, but it was pretty clean and could easily have gone another flush .

I have done the flushes myself. 3 4-gallon jugs of MaxLife ATF run $18 each. A drill pump costs $13. $30 for a filter. Comes out to about $110 after clamps and tubing to complete the job, which can be re-used; and you get better ATF in the end.
