    Hello there,
    I have a 2006 tacoma prerunnerv6
Which has been running pretty good until last year,.. whenbi had to replace the transmission (rebuilt),alternator,a/c compressor, new battery, and serpentine belt.....
It's been driving ok but the last few weeks we have had mind numbing cold here InThe northeast, and I'm wondering if this could have had helped my issue get worse.

All good, regular driving,. Until one morning,..no start,..it cranks yes,.but no start,. Battery good, and alternator good....anyway I have it towed,. They called me next day and said it started right up no issues,... so I picked it up,and drove for about a half hour,. And the truck shut off while driving,.. now the new scan pulled up the normal po420,and po430,.. but a new code was in there which was po606,.. so, I know this was replaced about 4 yrs ago, with a new refurbushed unit(don't think it was original)... and I am now removing the ecm and send out to flash again... do yall think this is the right thing to do,. As everything is ok,. I'm just going by the new code (po606) .. do u think it's something else,or is this a good place to start.??
Please, any help would be appreciated

    Michael

I have seen flaky AFR/O2 sensors cause P060x codes to set on Toyota's but having that code along with a running issue would tend to suggest a failing ECM.

I'm not a fan of reman/refurb ECMs, we seem to nearly always have some kind of issue with them. I'd rather go used if possible especially on unit's with low failure rates like most Toyota ECM's.

If you have an automatic used ECMs are very cheap (typically $100 or less), manual ECMs are typically $400+
