About a month ago the 7 year old battery in my truck bogged a little on start up so I put a new one in. No problems until yesterday. Went to start the truck and got nothing. I listened for a clicking starter solenoid but heard nothing. Tried to start it a couple more times same thing. On the third or fourth try the truck started. I ran an errand without turning the truck off and got it back home. I'm thinking the starter, which is factory, is going bad but want to hear what you folks think. I'm going to check the starter fuses and the relay in the fuse box this morning. I'm also going to make sure the ground wires are all clean and tight. The truck has 165K plus miles on the odo and I'm the original owner. I did replace the positive battery cable about a year or so ago. Thanks for your thoughts.

Addendum, I did check to make sure the ground was tight and corrosion free and it is. I also started the truck up this morning with no problem.

Thanks for the reply. That thread does help and gives me some ideas. My gut tells me the problem is the starter/solenoid. Probably going to have a shop look at it today.
