Ok ya I kinda decided the hell with it. But how bout this one..

was it a stupid idea to apply copper anti seize on the face of the mounting surface where the lower control arms mount and adjusted? Like the inner surface of this crossmember?

As long as the alignment cam and bolts are tightened it shouldn't move unless you hit a pot hole hard enough of course. I dont think the instructions called for greasing that area so i just installed the arms as is.

I can’t seem to get the lower control arm in on the driver side. As if the mounting surfaces are too tight, or the control arm bushings are too wide, not by much just like a 1/16” or so. So I gotta go to eat with that when I get home with the alignment bolts… since rock autos LCM’s didn’t come with any.

They DID reimburse me for what I’d pay locally though which was cool

Got one side of the rig on the ground. But the upper control arms are sitting super low. Like up against the coil spring. Rough country says I gotta drive the vehicle before the suspension settles in. But seems weird that the upper control arms are making contact with the coil.

truck sits nicely though. I’ll get a picture of it tomorrow. Would have had the other side done today too but the threads on the upper ball joint got boogered up and I can’t get a nut on it. Just gona have to wait till I get my upper control arms in the next couple days I guess for that side.

one pic is from this morning. The other is later in the day. I had the jack under the lower control arm trying to get the shock to compress a little bit but it was just lifting that one side

    Few pics of progress.

1st pic: before measurement was 10 1/8” inch between A GLADIATOR 35” tire and mid fender. I imagine the suspension will settle a lot more. Upper control arms also need to go on and they’ll be here tomorrow or the next day and I think I’ll just finish it off then since the thread are boogered on the driver side UCA.

2nd pic: just a mock pic of the new tire setup

3rd: the way the truck is clearing the 33s

4th: how it cleared them before

Upper control is currently making contact with the strut (I don’t like that).

Everything look ok though as far as assembly goes?

Kiss those front axle shafts goodbye. Way too much angle. And the inner boot is also already missing the outer clamp. Not to worry though, with that much articulation, the boots will fail in short order.

Wasn’t asking for angle input. And no they won’t because the suspension hasn’t settled yet. Also can you keep your dumbass comments out of my thread so ppl don’t have to sift through garbage unnecessary commentary to follow the essence of this build. Tia

Somehow I missed that this was an RC up until now. Amazing.

If you think your suspension is going to settle 6", we now know who the dumbass is. Don't worry, I'm all done here. Best of luck to you though.

I don’t think it will settle that much. I can see it settling an inch or two though.

And I dont mean to come off as a jerk either but being rude doesn’t add any substance to the thread.

and I know the angles are less than ideal right now to say the least lol. But apparently RC says it settles so idk. I think it’s just as weird as anyone else does lol. If the truck were to settle to where the distance between the fender and the tire was 13 inches though that would mean it settled 3 inches (which seems like a lot of settling).

it would also equate to the truck being 3” higher than my initial 3” lift (equating to a 6” lift).

Seems like 3” of settling would be a little far fetched of what is possible. But I haven’t installed a new set of coils and struts before. I’ve only done a new set of adjustable 5100s.

Oh there will be some mods all right
Is the lift specifically made for 4cyl? If not I've seen this issue many times before where the quoted lift height is for specific vehicle configurations and someone gets way more lift as a result of not having that specific configuration.

Yes I’m aware of that one as well. When you go to their site it doesn’t have you specify engine specs or anything though. Just basics of the rig like 2/4wd. I think that could be a factor here as well. But at the same time— i bought bilstein 5100s and the 1/2” top spacers were for the double cabs that may potentially not get the full 3” of lift. So if anything I would only suspect an extra 1 inch of lift for my regular cab.

Just realized that the 10 1/8” measurement was with a new 35. Not the 33. So it’s like 4” taller than before. Not 6 lol, my bad.

The good news is the ceramic coated wheels will really make the fender flare mounting holes flash.

Surely it's getting LED backlighting too?
