My 06 taco the over head console door latch for the garage remote
broke. Anyone know if these latches are available from the dealer or anywhere else. I'm guessing I'll have to replace whole console!
    Thanks!

They dont sell parts for it, just find one on ebay for $50 and use it for parts. They're ridiculously priced at the dealer for the whole unit.

This? Or is it part of the main console? I put in a switch panel so if this it it you can have it. It's from a 2015. 20200426_192221.jpg 20200426_192229.jpg

Bet you could find one of those overhead consoles really cheap on Ebay. It's the ones with the clock/compass that are a little pricy...

Yeah I found some but they have missing parts on or they want a fortune for them. If I'm gonna pay a striped watermelon ($100.)or more I may as well buy the on with the temp/ compass or clock and do the conversion. pain in the keister though.

when i had my xrunner, i took out that console and grabbed the nav and temp console from the trd sport. so worth. maybe you could go to a local pick and pull now that 2nd gens been out for a hot minute and grab one yourself. dont forget to get the temp sensor by the radiator.

Nothing major. -3rd Gen OR suspension swap. -Trailer light plug relocation.
Is this just as simple as swapping out the consoles? Is the power supply already up in the headliner even on non-TRD models?

It was up there for my 2008 X-Runner. Although a little difficult to find, the plug for the thermistor in the grill was there too.

i do believe all trims can prewired for that already. the xrunner doesnt fall under a trd trim, however the wiring was all already there; completely plug and play. just needed to get the comp console and the temp sensor.

I called my local picken and pullen, lol
but they have no tacomas. so I'm working with one of the online ebay auto dismantler
sellers to see if they can get me one cheap.
That and a drivers side sand beige visor.
I hope they find one with the compass/ temp gauge. I'm looking forward to doing the mod.

I wouldn’t pay big money for a used visor. They’re famous for breaking internally and sagging down. If you buy a used one, it could last years or it could break in a week. New ones are about $100. Mine just broke and I’m going to buy a new one.

There is a thread on how to fix it, but it will look like ass when you’re done.

If you buy a cheap overhead console with a broken display, you can buy the updated Toyota part (on Amazon) for just over $100, and it will probably last the life of the vehicle. The Thermistor is <$20 at your local Toyota dealer.

When I bought mine, I think I paid ~$200 on Ebay, and mine worked...for a while. I did a couple repairs, then decided to just buy the updated Toyota part.
