Hi all. Mechanic is telling me I've got a possible blown head gasket in my 06 with 310 000km on it. Assessing cost to fix and options and if its worth the $ to fix. Suggestions to verify its a gasket issue vs something else. Any ideas on cost to fix? A few threads suggest 2-3 days shop time and $2500 plus. Would hate to get rid of it.

    Try this stuff first: http://www.kseal.com/
I used it on my '02 Forester (know for HG problems) and it worked great and has been in over 5 years now. If it does not work you are only out about $ 15.

Dont use this shit or any other fluid gimmick.

Replace the head gasket and carry on. Get some quotes from different shops. Also, get a second opinion on the needed repair.
