06 tacoma chattering/knocking noise,

    hi guys i have a 06 tacoma 4.0 auto. i hit a bump the other day now i have a chattering/knocking noise that comes after a while of the truck running. it does change when i shift from park to reverse to drive but then will go away. im trying to upload a video but its not working. the truck has 86 thousand for mileage.

    "Access" Tonneau cover. Bed Mat. Hitch, Timbren SES
    At that age of vehicle , I'd first check the heat shields around the pipes and catalytic converter. They may have rusted out and are now hanging/rubbing on something ....

    It's not the shields sounds like it's coming from the bell housing ?

    I had a 1974 Monte Carlo (Sigh .... that I loved ...) that had a very similar sound. I found out the Flywheel had a partial ring type crack about 4 inches from the center of the flywheel. IT was found by removing the tranny inspection plate and rotating the flywheel with a gear rotation tool....
