I am assuming that this color comes from the factory with a clear coat finish

How many coats of primary and clear coat does Toyota use?

    Thanks, Tony

Most manufacturers use 2 coats base, and 2 coats clear. This is the standard in the auto refinishing industry as well. Toyota has REALLY been cheaping out on clear since about 2006, which means they may still be putting on 2 coats, but they're VERY thin coats. There isn't much clear on ANY Toyota 2006+.

As far as how much primary??? hahaha, I guess you mean PRIMER do they use? OEM parts come with what's called an "E-Coat" on them. Consider it a primer-type coating that seals the panel. It's thick, probably the equivilant to 1.5 coats of primer.
