06 trannys swap

Is it possible to change my 06 4.0 automatic to a manual? I don't think it would hold up to the prerunning style that I'm doing. Has 106k on it and it's about time for a rebuild and don't want to spend the money on a rebuild if I can put it to stick.

 

anything is possible depending on how much extra you want to spend .swapping to a manual will cost you more than it would cost to rebuild your auto . why do you believe your auto needs rebuildiñg

 

It doesn't like to go into over drive. To rebuild around here I'm looking at about 1600 but the driving I'm going to be doing soon will be tough on a auto. I'd rather spend the money now then to be going through trannys

 

overdrive is commanded by the pcm and is completely computer controlled . Did you have the problem proffesionaly diagnosed ?
Have you scannèd the truck for codes ?
