hi there fellow forum goers.. I am new to the forum. I am planning to build a twin t3/4 kit for my 06 taco, I have built kits before but not for any Toyotas.. for previous tunes I have been able to use a jumper harness and obd1 ecu (Honda). I am new to the Toyota world, what is the best way to tune these trucks? Also what is a good injector to use? Does the stock obd2 ecu componsate for boost? Reason I ask is I was told once that I don't need much of a tune as the ecu would read boost and with bigger injectors add the appropriate amount of fuel.. any help would be much appreciated.

Toyota ECUs are notoriously hard to hack. The man to ask would be Reg Reimer. He is a canadian guy who is a pro at toyota ECUs. The stock system CANNOT compensate for boost. You need to run much richer under boost. 11.5:1 or 12:1. The stock system is designed to run at about 14.6:1 for N/A operations. Your best bet is to go standalone. The alternative is a Piggyback ECU like the greddy E-manage. These can compensate for bigger injectors and keep stock emissions systems intact. All in all unless youre going to do a built motor and are looking for serious power youre just better off going with the TRD Supercharger.
