    Tacoma recently acquired:
2007 Tacoma Regular Cab 2.7L 4cy Stock. This truck has seen better days and I plan on bringing this thing back to glory. With 205,000 miles it feels great but needs some love.

Lots of stuff to work on. This used to be a work-truck from a city close by and I’ve decided to start working on it.

As of last month I’ve been purchasing parts from various sites:
    -Extreme Terrain
    -Napa Auto Parts
    -Toyota Dealerships
    -And many more

So far I’m happy with the parts but there’s so much to do that I’ll start by doing the east parts (lights, tune-ups, brakes, myself) and will go to my trusted mechanic and suspension guy (in Mexico ) to get the hard parts done.

Recently got the dreaded P0420 code and after changing the 02 sensor (and working for a few weeks) the light came back on and will replace the catalytic converter.

Suspension was beat as hell so got some Moog Parts, Rack & Pinion, Lift & Leveling Kit, KMC wheels and All-Terrain tires.

The lights and stuff will also need to be replaced as I buffer these out and looked good for about 2 months before getting back to the nasty yellow.

Updates on this as soon as my new parts arrive.

Glad to finally own a Tacoma

Fat Bob's lift kit, 30's on stock steelies, lunchbox locker in the rear, and a ton of other general mods and additions to help the utility of the truck for my particular uses.
Welcome to the work truck club. Love mine. Did suspension upgrades and many others. Such a great truck. Like to see where this goes.

I also purchased a “Mostly Cosmetically Neglected” 05 reg. cab 5 lug w/ a stick sight unseen. Lucky the old owner changed the oil (Thank Toyota for Maintenance lights) and did radiator flushes because of the plastic hose underneath the intake manifold! I’ve purchased new Enkei’s & Toyo rubber, everything new but a used radiator from our 07 w/ 36k miles and the heater core. Anything that has antifreeze flowing through it is being replaced. New Viking C/O Front & adjustable rear shocks, front StopTech’s (worth every cent), ball joints, PS bellows & hoses added a small cooler & inline magnetic trans filter, Gates belt, 3.58 gear w/ TrueTrec (from 07) LCE header w/ 304 exhaust system, 02 sensors, & high flow cat, will install a new clutch & U-joints soon, Yada Yada Yada..
New OE painted grill & door handles, head & taillights, having it repainted, tore out the old carpet & bench seat to install OE 12+ carpet and katzkin sport buckets (cheaper than OE cloth covers) re-webbed the seatbelts & new buckle’s w/ latches, installed cruise, intermittent wipers, leather wheel, small stereo & alarm, Yada Yada Yada…
Yeah I may have more in it than it’s worth but I know it will last me until I can’t push in a clutch any longer, plus it’s a HELL of a lot cheaper than buying a new Taco! OP if you’re looking for any of my old parts like carpet let me know you can have them for shipping. Oh, and if you are going with larger rubber I highly suggest a different rear gear. 3.58 or 3.73 can be found for cheap. As long as the 8.4 3rd member hasn’t had water in it they should last a lifetime. Here’s the drivers seat installed…

    Those look amazing in there!

can’t wait to see the truck down the line. I got all my parts delivered this past week and working on some stuff on my own, then having other parts installed by real mechanics.

This is my 3rd. refurbishment of an early 2nd. Gen regular cab 5 lug. If I can help you with any questions please ask. Now I’m not a know it all but I’ve learned many lessons the hard way.

Got the wrong 02 sensor, got a new one right away from Oreillys delivered to the site and got the new cat on there.

I’ve done a few more things myself, but I’m going to wait until the car is finished to publish them.
