I'm looking for a little help. I just did the urd fuel pump up grade, thoroughly cleaned the maf, cleaned the throttle body and still have the same issue. I can't maintain 70mph decently, have no throttle response when over 65mph and can't make a hill to save my life with out being at 45mph in 4th gear. Is anyone else having this issue? I'm heavily modified but I'm running 4.88 r/p with 33 inch wheels, I should be smoking tires and have lots of power but it's struggling bad. Any ideas? Thanks in advance

I was thinking that next, best way to test? Is dropping the pipe and unhooking the o2 sensor and test driving a good way? I'm already running chopped exhaust after the second cat

And it's honestly not me expecting too much of a 4cyl, my buddy has the same set up and extended cab but can smoke me easily

Did this problem start all at once, or gradually, or since you have owned it?
Is the cold and warm idle ok?
    MPG normal?

A sensor could have gone bad, and is passing bad info to the ECM.

It's always been this way but is now getting worse slowly. I was driving back from Vegas and head winds were slowing me to 60mph max at 4K rpm in 4th. It idles just fine during all temps, it's pretty strong in low gears but it's just in 4th and 5th at freeway speeds, the pedal doesn't seem to work past half way down. I push it all the way to the floor and nothing, just won't go any faster.

Do you have a scan-gauge or Ultragauge?
They can be used to trouble-shoot.

For example, one of the many sensor outputs that can be displayed, is the TPS. With the ignition on (not running), mine reads 11, and at wide-open-throttle (not running), it reads 74. The number should go up steadily with the pedal position.

OOPS, I just noticed, you have a 2nd-gen. So you may have 'drive-by-wire' (no throttle cable). If so, you may have both a pedal-position sensor AND a TPS.

I have an ultra gauge, tps reads from 17-81 so it's not that. Great suggestion tho I didn't think to even do that lol. I bought it for a speedometer since mines off from gears and tires

Your UG also reads coolant temp, and ignition timing. Check that those are doing.

Coolant is fine at 180-190, timing fluctuates from 7.5-8.5 at idle and increases on acceleration. I don't know how to read timing, I don't understand it yet.

I'm still thinking it's the a/f sensor and o2 sensor or my cat. My question is, if I drop the cats and sensors and run it from the header will that give me better performance so I know it's an issue with either things on the exhaust? I know it'll default the engine to run really rich but if it gains that power back does that say it's the cat or the o2 sensors?
