    I have a 07 tacoma 4.0l
It has a hesitation off acceleration but clears up a 3k rpm (solid check engine light)
While accelerating it governs itself out once you reach 50 mph (check engine light begins blinking)
The truck has sat for roughly 3 months ran fine last time drove.
Any ideas what could cause this?
It idles fine and no ticking or knocking in the motor.
I put high octane gas and a can a seafoam in and hoping it's just bad gas.

Go to Autozone or Advanced Auto, etc and have the code or codes read

Powered by one tailgate mounted CFM56–7 engine. The engine is a dual–rotor, axial–flow turbofan engine capable of producing 27,000lbs of thrust. Why yes, my tailgate is slightly bowed in.
Don't know if helps, had a Scion with similar sounding issues, drove the same way. Ended up being told it was in "safe mode" or something like that, Toyota dealership found a chewed wire on the back side of the engine that went to a knock sensor. They replaced the wire and it ran fine. No idea if Tacoma's even have these sensors.....

Tacomas definitely have knock sensors. And they're expensive to fix. Another member on here had to get it done

Just wondering if there is a governor on the 2.7 - I was going 110 mph and lost power - when I slowed up power returned.

the “governor” is a piece of code in the ECU that limits the engine speed by cutting fuel if I remember correctly. You could get rid of it, but, that would require something like a MOTEC FI system, besides 110 in a truck? On public roads?

that is bad for your dl and insurance, not to mention, a possible ban for violating CoC rules....(better hope a mod does not see this)

Bro scan the damn codes, my truck did that when i had a knock sensor code from sitting 2 weeks. Cleared the code and its been driving with no issues for the last year!

Scanned the codes misfire in cylinder 4 and 5 .... going to start with plugs first, if that doesn't fix the issue, then I'll try coil packs.... and hopefully it's not an injector issue
