i have an 07 Tacoma Trd sport 4x4 I bought the truck at a car lot and the guy who traded it in diddnt turn in a key fob so I ordered one online with the matching fcc numbers and I went to program it to the truck but my truck keeps rejecting it the locks will cycle twice every time, I have no problem getting the truck into the program mode but the fob won't program to the truck, I've heard that these truck can only store like 4-5 remotes and then the memory has to be cleared out to be able to store new ones, so if anyone has any info on how to go about doing that that would be great thanks, I would rather not have to take it to a dealership and pay 100 for them to do it

Thanks, but that's for the actual key though, my issue is the keyless entry key fob not programming to the truck and I'm wondering if anyone knows something I gotta do or how to clear the memory

    1) Note to self. If fobs are missing at time of purchase, make replacement fobs and programming part of the deal.

    2) Note to self. Look out for PO of vehicle who may have kept fob and a key intentionally. For ill intent.

Wasn't telling you what to do. Just a serious 'note to self'. Well, maybe #2 is still a heads up for you. Just sayin.

Looking forward to hearing solution that someone will bring. That will get snipped to my notes file.

On a somewhat related side note. I have an '04 Highlander that is still using the original batteries in the original fobs (keyless entry) at 108k. Someday one will get lost, die or fail. So the results you get could be helpful.

Dunno how. Haven't been to the dealer to do it yet.

Even though it enrages me that mine no longer works

Closest dealer is an hour away in one direction. Second closest is over an hour and a half away in the opposite direction.

Just been avoiding that drive that will likely cost me money when they want me to pay to have them program it
