I have the stock AM/FM single CD receiver in my 2007 Dbl cab Tacoma and the radio reception sucks pretty bad. I tried replacing the antenna which seemed to help for like a month before the reception sucked again. The stock speakers are pretty basic, not the JBL option.

I'm looking for suggestions if anyone installed a bluetooth system so I can play music from my phone or from an mp3 player. I'm not looking for anything extreme (expensive), I'm not a teenager who wants my doors blown off - as much as I do miss those days!
My primary concern is to get a clean sound. Would really like to get a surround feel or immersed in whatever is playing. To be able to elevate the volume level a bit would be kind of nice, but not enough where the vehicle next to me would feel the vibration coming out of my truck.

If there is such a thing as having the components as external or portable I would prefer that rather than have to replace my receiver and speakers. But I'll be fine either way. I'm guessing I would need some kind of amplifier anyway as well.

“Clean sound” won’t happen without a full system gut.

you can get Bluetooth as cheap as one of those FM transmitters for like $20-$30

you can replace the radio and get a bit better sound over stock AND Bluetooth for $100-$150 on the cheap end.

the speakers in your 07 are made of paper and probably falling apart as we speak. Those will be a big hinderance in any sound upgrade
