Hello guys, In need of help, I recently pulled the 3rd member and replaced Pinion & side carrier bearings, Upon install I couldn't get it out of the locked position, so I pulled the actuator, and manually unlocked it, re installed the actuator, And it will not engauge the posi lock in 4 LO

So, I bench tested the actuator with a 9volt battery, and it works, but feels gritty. I've taken the truck to the Dealer and had them Diagnose My Wiring And Voltages, all checked out good, they said my actuator was bad

I read some other threads about the actuator Needing to be TIMED with the MATCH MARKS, and that the unit should have been locked Before removal ???

I Believe I Have It Timed, Or Really Close anyhow, but this Tech that Diagnosed my wiring & Voltage, says it doesn't need Timed, it doesn't matter, and that I Can't get it wrong, I Disagree with him, because it only can turn so far each way ???

4 Hi Works Fine, When I put it in Neautral and engage 4LO I Can hear a CLUNK in the Rear, And It APPEARS to be working, But the Light is Blinking in 4LO, along with the ABS light On, Everything Appears to Disegauge Properly, What is the CLUNK I hear in the REAR, when I Enguage 4LO ???

What Am I Doing Wrong ???

Is The Technician Wrong, Saying it doesn't need Timed ???

I really appreciate any help on how to get this Actuator Timed, right ETC

Try plugging the actuator in and leave it unbolted/ off the diff.
Then switch it to unlocked, and set the actual diff lock in the diff to the Unlocked position.
    Then bolt it back up.

I’m pretty sure the actuator will stop where it needs to be on its own.
It has its own limit switches built it. It will time itself when it reaches Locked/unlocked position I think?

Or see this post and check the Locker Signals at the 4WD ECU and see where the problem is
