I got an 07 sport edition 4runner last May. I’ve been looking for something with this drivetrain for a while and started with Tundras but my work situation changed. I didn’t need a pick up truck anymore and Sequoia’s are a bit too big and not really my style. After searching for a while I finally found this one.
    It had about 147,000 miles

    Here’s how it looks today.

here’s how it looked when I got it. It has a k&n “cold air” intake and the ultra motor sport rims.

Found these on offer up. Method 701’s with nitto Recon grapplers 265/70r17. $1300 for everything and they still had some of the little rubber nubbies on the tread. Hell of a deal if you ask me!

Then i purchased a pre bent grill insert from customcargrills.com and built the mesh grill. I have an appreciation for body guys. That’s not me…
I saved the v8 badge but haven’t put it on yet.

Finally got all the parts for the lift. Jba upper control arms, bilstein 6112 fronts with springs. Bilstein 5160’s rear with old man emu rear springs. 2 1/2” lift in the front 2 1/4” lift in the rear. I wanted to keep a little bit of the raked look which i like. I will also use this to tow my built TJ at some point so I wanted the regressive shocks in the rear.

I took the 4Runner to a beach in Oregon and got to rip around in the sand on memorial day a few months ago and immediately got an exhaust. The plan was to get a Borla muffler and have a buddy weld it in, but Gibson had a 50% off sale that weekend so I pulled the trigger. 2 1/2” cat back instead of 2 1/4” is a plus as well. Not impressed with the Gibson quality. The last bend that the tip attaches to is almost a degree or two too much so the large tip touches the tow receiver and sometimes makes a tap noise. I’ll have to have an exhaust shop adjust it, or see if my buddy can. Also, you can see the stamp on the tip isn’t even and like faded on the edges. The sound is awesome though. I love that part.

Also got the head unit and back up cam. Went with a sony 7000 kit from trialgridpro.com because car audio is also not one of my strong suits. Its a 7” screen with camera, xm receiver, apple car play and is compatible with the existing jbl amplified stock system. So it took all the guess work out for me. Hind sight, I would have liked a slightly larger screen and maybe a floating screen style, but it was an easy install and looks clean and works great. So over all I’m really happy with it.
