I've had these on for a while but they're way too stiff. I like the look of the 1in lift. Can I install stock height shocks with a 1in lift? Recommendations? Gladly swap out w someone. Almost all paved and sane driving.

what springs are you running? what size are your wheels and tires? stiffness can come from a heavier spring and thin sidewalls.

Are you running them with the stock spring? That will give you a rough ride

There is no spring and stock wheels n tires. Strictly stock. There were no springs on the stock struts. Extra leaf in back

Has lockers, a skewp and a bit of droop.
Also, psi of tires can make for a harsh ride.

Bilstein 5100s are a digressive shock, they'll be stiffer on-road, especially with a the spring perch set higher for the lift, since you're compressing the spring a bit already.

you can replace the coil with a lifting spring, and keep it on the lowest setting, which will make it a bit smoother. but the stock shocks are going to be the smoothest on-road ride, without paying a lot of extra money for much nicer shocks or coilovers.

There has to be a spring in the front. With the 5100s you can use your stock spring and raise it via the little ring on the shock. If you do that, it will make the truck more stiffer.
In the rear, there is no spring. Just a leaf pack.

and tires psi is important. Toyota Recommends running 31psi front and 29 psi rear. that makes a huge difference.

Cooper Discovery 265/16 @35psi. So pretty basic. Huge change from the stock shocks

Try airing them down to about 31 All around. When i get my tires rotated, they pump them up to 38psi and I can definitely feel it.
