I visited this site several years back. Found a repair for my trucks problem. Never did get around to fixing it though. The individual in this forum even gave the model # of a replacement part that was exactly as that of Toyota, but far less in cost. The clicking sound is apparently coming from a plastic fan slightly to the left of the glove box. There is a motored fan right behind the glove but is not the one making the sound. Only happens when the temperature Is turned up to the higher heat temperature. Any help would be appreciated.

Mine used to make a ticking noise on LOW.
Then one day (2 years later) it stopped making the noise.
I was going to look into fixing it. But after talking to a few people.
It seems the noise will likely return.

My buddy replaced his motor, only to have the noise return a few years later.

I do see yours is making a noise on high?
Have you removed the Cabin Filter and looked inside, just to make sure nothing it stuck in there hitting the fan?

I usually have a few leaves sitting on to of my filter each time I change it.
I do park outside all the time, the majority of which is under Oak trees.

Sounds like one of the servo motors (There are three of them) has a gear that is missing a tooth or some teeth.

Yes I vote for the "leaves sucked in or near the fan".....

Read the OP. He said it isn't coming from the recirculation fan motor.

I think it would be the Blend Door Servo as you say it does it only when on High Heat Setting. That is what is called the "Air Mix Servo" on the drawing I posted above. And your are in luck as it is the easiest one to get to.

    Thanx guys.
It did turn out to be the Air Mix Control Servo. Problem was, I had an after market power door lock system installed and the cable ran along side the servo motor, causing it to stick. Now all good.
    Thanx again
