My other half is looking to get a new ride. Found a couple 08 4-runners for a reduced price at a local dealer. Anyone know if the 4-runners had the same leaf spring issue as the 08 tacomas? The whole intent of the new vehicle would be enabling her to pull a 2700 pound horse trailer every now and then(about 5k loaded with gear and horse), my 09 tacome pulls it suprisingly well........ they won't deal at all on 09's though.

i dont think it had any issues. i can tell you my wifes 4runner rides nicer than my truck does. we both have 07's i am half temped to trade my truck in for a 4runner. we had 1000 pounds of boxes in the back one times and it was leveled out and road fine. so......

08 4Runners dont have leaf spring in the rear, they are coils. I agree with Jason though They ride real nice even with a load.

Never did look under the back, thought they were the same as the trucks, thanks for the info.
