OH YEAH! Got my man card back this morning. All I can say is "How Sweet it is!" The truck feels less car like but still not totally truck like if that makes sense. I only got to drive it about 8 miles from the shop to work but it felt good. I will need to get it on the freeway, and also throw some crap in the back to see if there is any substantial improvement. I think the new shocks are what I am most proud of. All four tire feel like they are better planted to the road. I will give it a more thorough run through on the way home from work, but so far I am happy. I hope my post above helps everyone else with their quest to get this TSB taken care of. It is well worth the hassle.

evaforhire and Buzoff feel free to quote me as an industry insider/reference if need be. There should be no questions asked if you are having this issue, but sometimes dealers just don't want to put forth the effort to keep their customers satisfied. Hence the current issues in Detroit.

I have an '09 with MU52N which is a match.
Also don't have the current part#'s.
I'm dropping my '09 off tonight. They said they were going to check things out.Well,I now have the paperwork.
I hope the ride isn't too rough if they do the TSB change.
    Thanks for the info.
    Rep points for you!:)

Thanks for the rep. The ride is no where near as rough as the Ranger I test drove before I bought my Tacoma. It is not a rough ride at all. And trust me, it is worth getting done. Here is proof.

Even with the bed loaded to within an inch of the bed rails with dirt the truck did not bottom out, and the ride was still as good as it is unloaded. Enjoy.

    Hello,

I was looking for the VDS numbers in the TSB that I have downloaded. It is titled, T-SB-0305-08.

I can not see where the range of VDS numbers are listed. Just the previous part numbers. I have looked at all of the pages and I see VDS numbers shown in the tables talking about the alignment specs.

Is that where I should look for my number?

    TIA

Go to post #9 and download pdf again. The first time I downloaded the TSB from another post I did not have the right one either. This one has what you are looking for on the 1st page.

Purchased mine in Calgary, Alberta in November 08, has the 4 leaf pack for sure ( I double checked the #'s against the TSB as well ) and you do want to make sure you get this done. The ride is super stable and very smooth. I loaded a face cord of birch in the back last weekend and hardly noticed it on the drive back into town.

Hey Buk 0H5, I used to live in your neighborhood (recognize the homes) and now I live 5 mins down Schnepf. Just picked up my 07 Taco and was wondering which dealership you went to? Would you recommend the service writer you worked with? I need the TSB done as well as a door actuator problem and would love to take it somewhere that has a good rep. PM me if necessary...

    Thanks!

Hear's the deal...I just bought an '09 base 2wd, built in December. Today I noticed a yellow decal in the driver's door jam that says something like, "Caution, modifications made to this vehicle have reduced the load carrying ability by 290 pounds". The dealer knew nothing, of course.

Is this somehow related to this TSB? Did the dealer perform work on it in the weeks it sat on the lot? I thought it only effected 4x4's and PreRunners. Sorry for my "noobness"....I'm new to all things Taco.

I also have the same sticker in my door. I have to call Lia Toyota se if they will fix my truck. So the ride is sill the same? Did they put 3 springs to make the ride more car like?

So what's the decal for? Did they put it there from the plant? I'm confused. All I know is, I have a base 2wd with 3 leaf springs and this yellow decal in the door jamb.

    Hey Guys,

I'm in Canada I have an 08 Double Cab 4x4 auto. My vin is on the TSB. I have 4 leaf springs. Do I need to further check part numbers?

So I just checked my drivers side rear spring, the part number is 48220-04200. I'm not sure if I'm reading the TSB correctly since I don't see this number anywhere.

On page two of the bulletin in the chart column labeled OFP I see 48210-04550, is this the number I would find on my springs if I needed to have the TSB work done? I guess I'm confused because I don't see the numbers for my shock absorbers or springs anywhere on the TSB. I figured if I was okay, my numbers would match the current numbers on the TSB.

i got told to beat it today. Mine DOES sag and ride awful with just 400lbs. Funny part is, dealer paperwork says "cannot duplicate problem" and it shows mileage in and out at 897 miles. How could they duplicate it if they didnt drive it? This was even with 13 pages of TW knowledge and proof with tons of members here getting this done.

I walked over to sales and sat down with my salesman. Showed him the printouts and he said he'd get back to me. I said " let them know that I didnt yet fill out my Toyota Survey"

He came back and said " well, that only reflects on me"

    So, I was like

"im not asking for anything more than whats coming to me"

we'll see, so far I cannot recommend this dealership. Even though I was warned not to go there due to crappy service.
