09 at 200k miles

Hey there,

I just rolled over 200k (!), and I was wondering what maintenance I should do to my Tacoma for up-keep. I live in colorado and drive on quite a bit of washboard and rocky roads.
I get an oil change every 3k and recently did my power steering and front dif fluids.
I just want to make sure I’m doing as much preventative care so I can get another 200k out of it!

I would go get all the fluids flushed.

the coolant
the brake fluid
Rear diff
Transfer case.

Probably a good idea to clean

the MAF sensor,
Throttle body,

and change out

the air filter
the PCV valve....and....
oh yeah and spark plugs too!....The list goes on....

There are a lot of great threads on all these things and so much more. I use google to search specific topic and add 2009 Toyota Tacoma World to the search. You can find the answers to almost everything that way.

Welcome to TW…probably needs an Air filter by now

 

At 200K miles, as preventive maintenance, on my vehicles I intend to keep another 100k+, I do a cooling system overhaul on components that haven't been replaced - radiator, water pump, fan clutch, rad cap, etc … The hoses, belt, pulley bearings, and thermostat, I usually replace at 150K when I do the second coolant flush, so those I leave alone.

 

Nothing special. Just keep doing what you've been doing.

I do like how you have your truck set up, yours and mine could be twins. Mine is an 07 with 247,000 miles.
