I have an 09 double cab with 33K kms. 2 of the 4 wheels the clear coat is starting to bubble. On one it's in one tiny spot but on the other it's really bad. Noticeable from more than 5 feet away. The trucks goes in for servicing pretty quick, any chances of warranty? Is this a common problem? The truck has never been off road, my wife uses it to go to and from work, I washed it off at least once a week in winter to keep the salt off, we had a really mild winter and I don't even think they used much salt.

Anyway what do you all think?

    starting soon......
if it's still under warranty, take advantage of it. If you have any issues with the truck, have them look at it now, and get any promises to fix in writing. After 36K, it's all on you!

It should be covered under warranty. Make sure you bring it up when you go in and dont take no for an answer.

I'll be taking it in next week and I'll bring it up with them at that time. The dealership here has been fantastic with anything that has come up.

    It's a sport.

I have seen this on other rims on other peoples vehicles, never had it on any vehicle I have owned till now. Had a wtf moment when I noticed it today.

If you've only got 33000 KILOMETERS on it - I would think it is definitely under warranty.

Mine are doing the same thing. I've been getting the run around from the dealership. They said it's cosmetic and isn't covered under warranty. My 09 has 28,000 on it.

Had the rusting steel wheels replaced under warranty at 42,000 kms. No problems from dealer. Included balancing etc. Canadian truck. Should be under the 3 year/60km warranty but try the longer anti corrosion warranty if regular warranty has run out.

I just found this on mine. With the local dealer being an a-hole, I am not sure how to get itfixed. Has anyone in the US gotten thisfixed?

The dealer took a look at the rims and took some pictures, definetly a warrant. I have up to June 2012 to get them replaced. The dealer gave me two options, have them replaced right now. Or drive them over the winter and have them replaced in the spring before the warranty expires.
