    Hello all,

I have a 2009 DCSB with 113K on the ODO with the original serpentine belt. I found there is some belt squeal on a cold start or accelerating onto the highway with a cold engine. I inspected the belt: no chips, cracks, splits, or oil drips. Tension is good as well as far as I can tell.

I'm just wondering if changing the serpentine belt would fix the issue or do I have a bigger problem such as some bad pullies, bad tensioner, or...?

Any advice and recommendations are welcome!

    Thank you.

My first impression is that your belt is worn out.... They are not like the old "V" belts and can be worn out and still look good.... the secret is the depth of the belt in the "V" area. The bottom doesn't wear that makes the belt ride "higher" in the groove... Only contact you get that way is the tip of the "V"...

Try new belt... if no change...,check all pulleys and tensioner..Check for "wobble".....don't forget the alternator.....mine froze up last year and fried a new belt... and all the pulleys and tensioner were worn and sloppy...

    Good luck man...
