So, I went to start my '09 last week and on the first turn there was a loud BANG and my 2.7 was seized solid. She had 415K kms on her so it was tough to feel bad but, given pricing and availablity of a decent Taco in this rust belt, I thought she was my last Gen 2. This week I came across an ad for a 2013 with 204K kms with V6 and six-speed for what I thought was a great price so I suspected that there were issues, especially with the frame. Turns out the young fellow was very anal about maintenance and rustproofing and other than some surface rust, the frame is solid. My goal is to make this baby last me out. I appreciate the great information that I have gotten and will get from this group.

It should last a long time. My 2013 has 121K miles and feels like a new truck. Here in New Mexico frame rust isn’t a problem, the sun is and the paint rots from the top down.
