I have searched everywhere and I can't find a definitive answer.
Will the original 4x4 fender flares from a 2009 fit on a 5 lug 2005 access cab?

It should. The bodies on the trucks are the same, now keep in mind the front bumpers of our trucks dont have the notches for the fender flares, so you will have to cut them or replace them with bumpers that take the flares.

Also you will have to modify the fenders by drilling holes in them too.

    That clears it up.
I see a used set for $200 on CL that I think I'm going to buy.
    Thank you JCruz.

I contacted the dealer and said the OEM flares won't fit on the 5-lug. I bought the Bushwacker flares for my 5 lug, which required some drilling on the wheel well. It's a bit more pricier than the asking price for the OEM flares you saw on CL. Best of luck though!

    Of course he did.

Unless the person answering the phone is an enthusiast and out there trying all kinds of mixing and matching, they are nothing more than a catalog jockey, and the catalog says it won't fit. Therefore it's their 'truth'.

And no, it won't fit w/o some dinking around. So no, Toyota shouldn't provide all options that wackos like us might come up with.

But just like a dealer will tell you you can't put a intermittent wiper in your base Tacoma (with a Camry, Corolla, or other Tacoma/Tundra part), because it's not in the 'catalog', it doesn't mean it can't be done! ;)
