for arguments sake, lets say Texas barely beats Alabama in an ugly low scoring turnover filled game... Boise State barely beats the Horned Frogs in the same kind of game. and Florida crushes the Bearcats 65-0. whos #1?

maybe I should have added one of these:D.
would that make you feel better:rolleyes:

Texas. The bcs is set up now with a MNC game in which #1 plays #2 winner takes all. All the other scenarios are fun or frustrating to think about but now it is just #1 vs #2

Here is something for you bammers to think about
    7-0-1
if the mighty bear couldnt beat Texas what makes you think satan can?

    Bring it on.

Then Texas in #1. Whether they win by 1 or by 20. In your argument, Texas would be (unfortunately) #1. Florida will crush Cincy, but I don't think anyone expects anything different. Honestly, who has Cincy played? I'm glad they get a good bowl since they are undefeated, but I don't expect much out of them. I see UF holding them to <14 points. I would LOVE it if Cincy would beat them, and send Tebow out a crying, pathetic loser, but I don't see it happenin.

You know?!?!?! i believe that i will have to say that i am pulling for TX!!
just because they are the underdog... And i also really dont like the SEC. but it is Kind of cool to see what SABAN has done to the Tide after 3 years, what he is 28 and 3 or something like that.
i hope cincy takes advice from the tide and beat the gators...
i really do think when it comes down to it the game that will prob be the most fun to watch, IMO will be the tcu boise game!!

I think everyone is forgetting that these teams are taking a month off. And those of you that played football know that even if you take a week off you can have major problems. Even though you are practicing you are falling out of "game shape". We have seen a lot of teams that have been predicted to kick ass in a title game and then get blown out.

Oh I agree 110%, the BCS is shit. I can understand keeping the ap and coaches rankings through the season and let the tow 16 teams have a play off

John 11:35 would have been more appropriate.

    Oh, and HOOK'EM HORNS!!!!!!!!!!!
I booked my flight, hotel and car right after the field goal kick. Tickets should be here right before Christmas. Can't wait for the big game.

I don't think Tebow would catch as much flack if it weren't for the fact that everything he does is slobbered over by the media. He does mission trips. Great, so do many other D1 players. He is religious. Great, so are many other players. He spends time with the community. Great, so do many others. He is just like plenty of other players that are out there that do not receive the media attention.

How much of it is because of the university putting it out there? How much of it is him wanting the attention? Hell, he got a plaque up on the wall because of a speech he gave after LOSING a game. Most things are put up after winning. It just doesn't make sense.

I have all of the respect in the world for Tebow off the field (as I've said before, quoted below). He's a great role model and somebody I'd want my kids to look up to. Not just the Christian life he leads, but the class-act way he talks about opponents in post-game interviews and press conferences.

But he plays for Florida, who I very badly want to beat. And on the field, besides being an incredible player, he's a complete nutjob sometimes (w/ the head-butting and the crazy screaming and such). I don't feel bad for taking a few jabs at him crying after all of the media hype about how much of a warrier he is.

If that means I have no class, then so be it, but I didn't do any other bashing of Florida after we won. Go back and look at my posts.

And, on top of that (and as I've said MANY times before, one quoted below), I'll pull for all of the SEC teams in bowls this year, just as I did last year. I've done the Gator Chomp and screamed War Eagle many times in my life, b/c I want the SEC to be undefeated in the bowls every year. I think it's silly to want the next team to beat a team that just beat yours.

I appreaciate that you think I'm not like that, as I don't either, but I don't think cracking a smile at Tebow's crying makes me a terrible, classless Alabama fan.

For the record, I hope Florida pounds the hell out of Cinci in the Sugar Bowl. I believe Florida will win by at least 3 TDs.

I agree... It'd still be Texas. BUT, that doesn't mean the AP won't vote for another team and split the national title like they did with USC and LA State a few years back.

I've seen that stat... Texas and Rice are the only teams Alabama has played multiple times and never beaten. The last time Alabama played Texas was before I was even born, though... so I'm not sure a record that old has any bearing. Besides... the time Texas beat Bama before that (in the 1965 Orange Bowl), Alabama was still voted the AP and Coaches' Poll National Champion.
