I'm sure there were others that were crying after that loss. They aren't Tim Tebow. Therefore, according to the media, they mean nothing. If Tebow wasn't made into a "god" by the media, people wouldn't be on him as much. They act like he's the greatest football player to ever walk the earth. They act like he's the only Christian in sports. They act like he's the only person with morals. They act like he's the only person that's ever done mission work. Good for him, but he's not the only player in college football that's done so. But he's "superman". He's a "warrior". He's the greatest leader in college football history. Whatever. If the media wasn't lickin his balls for the past 3 years, he woudln't be bashed as bad. But guess what...they did, so he's getting bashed. If that hurts his feelings or your feelings, that sucks. It's all part of being in the national spotlight. It's all part of being the most talked about sports player perhaps of all time. Here's a tissue, go ahead and suck it up and get over it.

I think UT will find the Tide a lot tougher than anything they faced in their schedule. Hopefully they'll be singing Rammer Jammer in Pasadena.

I have to agree with Benca1 100%. Tebow is one hell of an athelete and off the field is an amazing person. The reason the media is all over Tebow is because I have never seen anyone play with as much emotion as him in any sport. He gets his team fired up. I dont remember the game, but when he got bloodied up, how many QB's would have bowed out at that point? He isnt your typical QB which is also why they like him. I know if I was in his shoes I would have cried too. Most players on everyones favorite teams would have cried too. I understand everyone hates him because of the media, but I hear just as much about McCoy going on mission trips and at the beggining of the year I heard as much if not more about Bradford. I am not on the bandwagon because I usually go for the underdog, but I like him because of his emotion and what he does off the field. I also like McCoy because he is conservative and what he does off the field. I have cried after we lost the championship in high school and after we won the championship. I think Tebow having that much emotion is great for the sport because I would rather have players like him crying after a loss than players that only care about getting paid.

imagine that...heisman finalists are decided by media whoring and politics rather that performance of an athlete

Clemson lost to MARYLAND (2-10), maybe if Spiller had gone to a legit team he'd be a lock for the heisman. But you can't go 1-3 against top 25 teams and claim you have the best player.

I certainly think we'll be the toughest team they've faced... and they'll be at minimum the second toughest we've faced. It's going to be a fantastic game.

I fully agree with your hope, too.

I'm not saying it'll happen, but on Saturday you might be able to add something to your list:
2005: UT had a heisman hopeful who lost out to one who played for their NC opponent

Now: Ingram beat out McCoy for the bronze trophy
In 2005 y'all "shouldn't" have won, but did. This year things will be as they should... ROLL TIDE!

    Spiller should have been there.

    i disagree

how many of reggie bush's records did CJ break?

how many records (both acc and ncaa) did CJ set?

#1 in Nation in Kickoff Returns for Touchdowns, 4
#1 in Nation in Consecutive Games Scoring a Touchdown, 13
#4 in Nation in Kickoff Return Average, 33.7
#4 in Nation in All-Purpose Yards per Game, 193
#5 in Nation in Total Touchdowns, 20

all DESPITE playing hurt all season...DESPITE not having a good team helping him

he also scored a touchdown 5 different ways this season...5...AND he scored a TD in EVERY game he played this season

9 TD plays coming from 50 yards or more this season

if ANYONE did more for his team...im interested to hear it

CJ Spiller singlehandedly carried Clemson to the ACC Championship game and a bowl game this year...injured

    dont get me wrong

Ingram deserves to be there...as i think Suh does...because quite frankly...its nice seeing a defensive player nominated for it...but tebow had the worst season of his ncaa career this year

he's there because he's tebow...not because he deserves it

Did you read my post correctly? I said he should be there.

I absolutely agree. I'm willing to bet he comes in no better than 3rd (behind McCoy and Ingram, in whatever order) in the voting. Probably even behind the kid from Stanford... but he's Tebow, so he goes to NY.

The heisman is a meaningless reward. I guess it makes who ever wins it feel better but as fans we know it hasnt been won by anyone who really deserved it in years.
If colt wins it fine. If he dosent who cares. It used to be for the best player in NCAA football but now it is a popularity vote. The most popular player on the highest profile team. Stop getting so worked up over it.

    crystal balls > bronze statues
ask VY he will tell you the same thing.
Ask reggie bush and matt lineart see what they have to say.

Absolutely agree with this statement. Still... I'd like it for Mark, and it'd be nice to have one at Alabama so we could get that monkey off our back.

Given the choice, though, any sane person would rather bring home the NC.

I agree with you 100% on this. They say one of the things they look at is how important the player is to their team, and I dont think there is more important players than Spiller and Gerhart. And you cant say Texas didnt deserve to win in 05. If they didnt deserve to win they wouldnt have. USC knew going in that Young was going to try to take over the game and he sure did.
